The Smoking Laws in Namibia, Yes/No?

Smoking is a really bad habit, I know that for sure. I can basically call myself a chain smoker as I have been smoking for almost 13 years now (Not too proud of myself)

On the 5th of January 2005 our country also implemented the No-Smoking law.

Smoking is prohibited in virtually all indoor public places and indoor workplaces, and on all means of public transportation. Smoking is also prohibited in certain outdoor areas including: (1) outdoor areas of private dwellings used for any commercial childcare activity or for schooling or tutoring; and (2) outdoor areas a distance of two meters from windows, ventilation inlets, and entrances and exits of public places and workplaces.

After the Non-Smoking Law got implemented, Namibians were shocked and obviously didn’t understand how to deal with it. I can’t really think how this could change a daily routine or effect my way of smoking, sure it sucks major balls if you’re at a pub or a local "kuier plek". It’s a good thing these laws got passed on in our country, I mean the non-smokers also have rights. If you were to be a non-smoker, would you like to sit next to an astray full of cigarette buds and smell heavy like ash and smoke?

I spotted an astray at a local bar and believe me it doesn’t look nice. Imagine sitting next to that dirty ashtray

The worst for me is the pictures on the cigarette boxes.

Tobacco packaging warning messages are warning messages that appear on the packaging of cigarettes and other tobacco products concerning the health effects of those products. They have been implemented in an effort to enhance the public's awareness of the harmful effects of smoking. In general, warnings used in different countries try to emphasize the same messages.

To be honest some of these pictures makes no sense to me what so ever.

To get to my point of the post, I honestly don’t bother with smokers or non-smoker, i respect non-smokers, so do i hope they respect my smoking habits. And remember, its sometimes not a bad idea to quit smoking.
